For more than 25 years I’ve worked at the intersection of television, broadcast engineering and technology, designing, building and supporting the systems that keep productions on air.
From university media centres and education facilities to some of the UK’s largest and well-known television studios, I’ve built a career solving technical problems, integrating complex systems and helping production teams deliver television productions with confidence.
Today I’m the founder and Director of TullowMedia, where I combine hands-on engineering with consultancy, systems integration and project delivery for broadcasters, production companies and corporate clients.
Whether I’m designing an IP network, commissioning a new studio, supporting a live entertainment show or troubleshooting a critical broadcast issue, my approach is always the same:
"Build reliable systems. Solve problems quickly. Make technology invisible."
Like many people in broadcast engineering, I didn’t arrive here by accident.
My career began in education, supporting media students while maintaining television, radio and production facilities. Those early roles gave me an appreciation for every part of the production chain—from cameras and sound through to editing, networking and transmission.
At Sutton Coldfield College, I progressed from AV Technician to Media Technician, helping support the college’s television and radio facilities while developing skills in audio, video and web technologies.
I then joined Birmingham City University, where I helped design and build the University’s digital radio facilities before becoming part of the team responsible for creating the Parkside Media Centre. As Acting Media Centre Technical Manager, I led a team of technicians supporting one of the UK’s most advanced university media facilities in the UK.
In 2014 I joined Pinewood Studios as a Broadcast Engineer.
Over the next decade I worked across every aspect of studio broadcast engineering, progressing to Senior Broadcast Engineer while helping deliver hundreds of hours of television.
Alongside day-to-day engineering I became heavily involved in:
Broadcast systems integration
IP networking
Communications systems
Broadcast infrastructure
Project management
Data management
Studio commissioning
Systems design
I also regularly stepped into Technical Manager roles when productions required additional engineering leadership.
Following my departure from Pinewood Studios in 2025, I founded TullowMedia based in London.
My goal was simple:
"Provide the kind of engineering support I’d always wanted to receive as a client."
That means combining practical broadcast engineering with modern networking, systems integration and consultancy—without unnecessary complexity.
Since launching TullowMedia I’ve worked with organisations including:
Projects have included designing and commissioning the new National Lottery presentation studio at Television Centre, providing supervisory engineering support across multiple studios, supporting live broadcasts and continuing my work as Data Manager on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.
Over the years I’ve worked on a mix of projects involving broadcast systems, live production setups, studio builds, and networking. That might mean specifying and commissioning a full system, sorting out a stubborn network configuration, or coming in remotely to help untangle something that isn’t doing what it’s supposed to.
I tend to keep things practical. I like systems that are reliable, easy to use, and don’t need a manual the size of a phone book just to get through a session. Most of the time, the goal is to make the tech disappear so people can just get on with creating.
TullowMedia is my way of bringing all of that together — whether it’s consultancy, hands-on build work, commissioning, or ongoing support. I stay closely involved in projects from start to finish, and I try to keep communication simple, direct, and honest throughout.
Do you need help with a broadcast, studio, or media technology project? I’d be happy to discuss your requirements and find the right solution. When you work with TullowMedia, you’re working directly with an engineer who takes pride in building robust systems, communicating clearly, and seeing projects through from concept to completion. Drop me a line to info@tullowmedia.co.uk and we can have a chat about you future project.

Technology should enable creativity—not get in its way.
Whether I’m building a new television studio or diagnosing an intermittent network fault at 2am, I believe engineering is about making complicated systems feel simple for the people using them.
I’m known for being calm under pressure, approachable, and someone who enjoys solving the problems others can’t.
Many of my projects come from repeat clients and recommendations, which I consider the strongest endorsement of the way I work.
